Invacare Doubles Masters
The Invacare Doubles Masters brings some
of the world’s very best wheelchair tennis doubles players together for a
year-end championships event for the 12th successive year.
“We are delighted that Invacare
is continuing its sponsorship of wheelchair tennis. The company’s longstanding
support of the World Team Cup helped it become the most prestigious event on
the ITF’s wheelchair tennis calendar, and I am confident that its commitment
and enthusiasm will have a similar effect on this important year-end event,”
said ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti, President of the International Tennis
Federation.
"We are also delighted to be
returning to the superb facility at the Frans Otten Stadium in Amsterdam, which
has a proven record of working with the ITF to stage world-class
wheelchair tennis, having been the host venue for the Singles Masters
between 2006 and 2010."
The Invacare Doubles Masters remains the
most prestigious doubles event on the worldwide Wheelchair Tennis Tour. It also
carries ITF Masters Series status, bringing with it a rich pool of ranking
points.
Its position on the calendar towards the
end of the season also means it may decide the year-end World No. 1 Doubles
players in each of the Men's, Women's and Quad rankings published by the ITF.
“With the Netherlands having staged
the Wheelchair Tennis Singles Masters in Eindhoven, Amersfoort and Amsterdam
over the past 17 years and having staged two World Team Cups, the KNLTB
is delighted that our country is staging yet another world class
wheelchair tennis event,” said Rolf Thung, KNLTB President.
"The Invacare Doubles Masters once
again presents international wheelchair tennis at its very best and
we look forward to another highly successful event in Amsterdam."
